About The Position

As a member of an agile scrum team, the Staff Software Development Engineer will work on a cross-functional team on the new Cloud-based ground system software including the Next-Gen Rapid Access baseline. The team member will provide on-schedule, high quality, operational and test code adhering to designs, acceptance criteria and corporate standards, with appropriate demonstrations and documentation. As a seasoned Backend Java Engineer, you will provide support for less experienced engineers and guide software development standards and practices for the greater DARS organization. While this role requires a Backend Java Engineer, any additional front end development experience or skillset s, specifically in Angular UI development, are preferred.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Minimum 5 years backend software development
Expertise in Java programming language experience
Familiar with AWS services such as S3 and IAM
Experience with development tools such as Github, Jenkins, IntelliJ, Kubernetes, etc.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems
Experience with test automation languages/frameworks: Cucumber, Gherkin
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
Familiarity with micro-service architectures and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
Familiarity with Spring Framework and associated annotations.
Experience with SQL/databases
Active security clearance
Angular UI development

Responsibilities

Software design and development of operational code of new features and defect repairs
Develop automated unit and functional tests
Demonstration and documentation of functionality and test results
Troubleshoot operational issues
Support deadlines and communicate issues/results
Participate in Communities of Practice for adherence and improvement of best practices
