About The Position

Rivet Operations Company is looking for a Principal Software Developer to design, build, and sustain the applications and data services at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. This role provides software development, systems design, technical implementation, testing, data pipeline support, database support, API support, quality assurance, and technical leadership. The Principal Software Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing helpdesk support for Aviation Logistics Department (ALD) software, developing supply warehouse automation software, and designing and maintaining ALD web pages and applications using government-owned or licensed SaaS and PaaS. This role also participates in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for all developed software.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • A minimum of 14 years’ general experience with an associate’s degree.
  • A minimum of 12 years’ general experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ general experience with a master’s degree.
  • In lieu of a degree, candidates may qualify with an additional number of years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, designing, implementing, testing, and evaluating software and systems, applying computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles, including data pipeline, database schema, and API development.
  • Experience providing technical support, influencing solution direction, and resolving complex technical issues through root-cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and provide helpdesk support for ALD software.
  • Develop and maintain supply warehouse automation software, and design and maintain ALD web pages and applications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive help files for all developed software and apply knowledge of multiple coding languages.
  • Produce static code reviews and participate in the RMF process for all developed software.
  • Analyze and identify root causes of technical issues, triage them, and provide timely workarounds and solutions.
  • Provide training to ALD staff on office productivity software and daily end-user support for all developed applications.
  • Enforce secure system foundations in support of the RMF, by translating compliance frameworks into technical requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and how they apply to DoD operational security (OPSEC) policy.
