About The Position

Oracle is looking for a Principal Software Developer to help build and operate cloud services that manage a worldwide fleet of thousands of Kubernetes clusters. This role is for an experienced engineer who can take ownership of production services, lead technical design, and build reliable distributed systems for the deployment, delivery, and operation of SaaS applications. As a senior member of the team, you will own and shape orchestration services, automation frameworks, control-plane APIs, and Kubernetes-based capabilities that application teams rely on to deploy, upgrade, and operate software safely at scale. The systems you build coordinate desired state, execute long-running workflows, manage cloud and cluster resources, and make large-scale operations safe, repeatable, and observable. Ideal candidates have deep experience building and operating highly available, secure, cloud-native distributed systems across multiple regions. They are comfortable setting technical direction, raising engineering standards, mentoring other engineers, and driving ambiguous, high-impact work from design through production. The team is primarily remote and distributed across the US, India, and Europe. Communication is often asynchronous, so strong written communication, clear documentation, observability, and operational discipline are essential.
