About The Position

This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing reporting and visualization solutions to provide reliable and scalable business insights. The engineer will implement best practices in BI development, including data modeling, visualization standards, and performance optimization. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to aligning reporting solutions with business objectives. The position also involves developing and maintaining semantic data models and reporting layers using BI platforms like Power BI or Tableau, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance. Responsibilities include supporting and enhancing existing BI assets, evaluating new BI tools, and troubleshooting production reporting environments. Additionally, the role requires designing analytical data models, integrating source systems, and enabling self-service BI and analytics platforms. Business partnership is crucial for delivering trusted insights and aligning data platforms with enterprise strategies. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field required.
10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platforms.
5+ years in a senior/lead architect role driving platform strategy, standards, and governance at enterprise scale.
Proven expertise designing and operating cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake or similar), including Lakehouse/medallion architectures.
Hands-on experience with ELT/ETL tools, data modeling, and metadata management (dbt, Fivetran, or comparable).
Strong background in enterprise integration (API-led, event-driven, or batch patterns).
Demonstrated success enabling self-service BI and analytics platforms with governed semantic layers.
Exposure to machine learning/AI platforms and MLOps practices for operationalizing models.
Track record of partnering with business leaders to align data platforms with strategic business needs (growth, efficiency, compliance, innovation).
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; experience influencing technical and executive audiences.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or Business/Technology discipline preferred.

Develop and maintain modern semantic data models and reporting layers using BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or other cloud-based reporting tools.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance through standardized metric definitions, data validation, and documentation practices.
Contribute to BI development standards, reusable dashboards, templates, and data models to promote scalability and self-service analytics.
Maintain and enhance existing dashboards, reports, and BI assets to ensure performance, reliability, and alignment with security and governance policies.
Evaluate and recommend new BI tools, visualization techniques, and reporting frameworks to continuously improve analytics capabilities.
Support production reporting environments, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis while driving continuous improvement of BI processes.
Design and implement efficient analytical data models (star schemas, semantic layers, and aggregates) that support enterprise reporting and dashboarding needs.
Perform detailed analysis of source systems and datasets to ensure accurate integration with reporting platforms.
Apply best practices in data modeling, metadata management, and version control to maintain consistency and transparency across BI assets.
Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and data teams to deliver trusted and actionable insights through well-designed dashboards and reports.
Translate business questions and analytical requirements into scalable BI solutions aligned with enterprise data and analytics strategies.
Contribute to the evolution of enterprise BI platforms by shaping reporting standards, governance frameworks, and long-term analytics roadmaps.
