The Principal Security Engineer conducts security assessments of products and services, develops testing tools and methodologies, reviews and writes code for complex investigations, and participates in security alert reviews. The role recognizes, escalates, contains, and mitigates security events; contributes to post-event reviews; supports compliance assessments and deliverables; and helps maintain security-compliant inventory systems. The position provides guidance on business continuity and disaster recovery, supports execution of continuity plans for critical systems and data, and assesses readiness for certification or audit. It recommends and applies data security techniques—including encryption, hashing, masking, and access management—and reviews related documentation and procedures. The engineer also researches security developments, evaluates emerging threats and technologies, and recommends actions and innovative solutions. In addition to technical security work, the role coordinates moderately complex tasks and projects, delegates and prioritizes work, collaborates with stakeholders, addresses problems, and contributes to process improvement. It pursues ongoing learning, coaches and mentors junior colleagues, and participates in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations.
