About The Position

The Effector Analog & Power Department is seeking an electrical engineering leader with experience in engineering management, design, simulation, and analysis. The Section Leader will utilize advanced technical knowledge in SABER and other Analysis and Simulation tools to lead their section in providing customer-enabling analysis artifacts. The candidate will work with section members to provide career guidance, performance feedback, and technical leadership to enable the employee for success. Responsibilities will be split between supporting program(s) as an engineer (~90%) and providing functional leadership to the section (~10%).

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of experience OR an Advanced STEM degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with taking a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and develop a complete system or subsystem model
  • Experience with the SABER simulation tool
  • Experience with Siemens/Mentor Xpedition (or equivalent schematic entry tool) to create schematics
  • Leadership experience in a product development environment with multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.​ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance​
  • Active secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience serving as a Hardware Architect, Control Account Manager (CAM), Cross Product Team Lead, and/or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL)
  • Experience creating and presenting professional level design documentation to company leadership and program customers
  • Experience with workforce planning and staffing forecasts
  • A strong advocate for process improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical and schedule risks and to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (cost/schedule development and management)
  • Development of technical proposals, engineering project estimates, and/or white papers
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and writing as well as thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with all phases power design
  • Experience with digital power design
  • Experience with complex printed wiring boards between 16 and 32 layers
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica

Responsibilities

  • Manage a section of 12 to 20 engineers.
  • Enable career development for direct reports
  • Develop training curricula, provide technical and process mentoring, and leadership skill development
  • Lead functional and cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needs, including project leadership, proposal writing, pursuing new business, managing budgets and schedules
  • Support hiring (resume reviews, interviews, etc.)
  • Elicit and compile performance feedback to support Performance Impact
  • Hold required Performance Discussions (PD) where compiled feedback, key strengths and development needs are conveyed
  • Work closely with other section managers, the department manager, the program management office, senior managers, senior staff engineers, systems engineers, and other development team members
