About The Position

The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The team delivers high-quality information through activities that include development of essential, building infrastructure capabilities to meet client needs and implementing data standards and governance. The Principal Scrum Master is a servant leader with a growth mindset, responsible for facilitating squad delivery while ensuring proper governance of process. They are responsible for acting as a trusted coach, guiding the squad during ceremonies, removing impediments, and embodying Our Ways of Working. Additionally, Scrum Master takes the lead in maintaining the accuracy of, JIRA and governance artifacts in addition to promoting, improving, training, mentoring and adopting project management and scrum mastery best practices. As an Associate Director, the Principal Scrum Master is expected to be a leader on the team and in the community of Scrum Masters. Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC’s business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC’s mission to support the financial markets.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of agile methodology

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of the end-to-end Institutional post trade Derivatives lifecycle highly desirable
• Experience with similar business/application messaging systems and protocols (e.g., SQL, MQ, Sftp, MS azure, XLST) an advantage

Responsibilities

• Identify and help to remove impediments from the Squad, following escalation paths as needed
• Interact with CoE’s on status, issues, collaboration, stakeholder engagement
• Liaise with Product Owner and Tribe/Hub Stakeholders to support Tribe activities such as the Quarterly Tribe Review
• Ensure Squad Manager Tool is up to date (Squad Members, OKRs, supporting documentation)
• Plan and chair (host) key meetings, help facilitate Sprint 0, SoS and distribute minutes for tracking purposes; follow-up as required
• Create the project in JIRA, ensuring that traceability is maintained, accuracy and overall health is provided via metrics and dashboards; ensure rules are being followed
• Train users and oversee JIRA backlog and planning sessions (PO owns backlog). Additionally, accurately define “Issue Type and Association” in JIRA
• Create project(s), perform updates on resource, tasks, and allocations in PPM. Monitor staffing profiles, time tracking, budgeting, and forecast vs. actuals.
• Manage release planning in accordance with Change Management policy
• Acts as a change agent, guiding the squad on agile best practices and alignment with Our Ways of Working (OWoW), consulting with agile coaches as needed
• Takes a holistic view of squad’s body of work and being forward-thinking on initiatives and epics
• Leading Agile Ceremonies such as Backlog Grooming, Sprint Retro, Sprint Review/Demo, Sprint Planning
• As an Associate Director, act as a leader within the community of Scrum Masters.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with SDP and pass DPA audit requirements
• Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
