About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking a Principal Scientist to join their growing Environmental Investigation and Remediation Group. This role involves developing and maintaining client relationships, managing projects to meet client expectations, and contributing to the firm's success through business development and technical leadership. The Principal Scientist will play a key role in growing and building a dynamic group, working with an engaged team focused on creative solutions to complex environmental problems for a wide variety of clients.

Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • A minimum of 15 years of direct environmental consulting experience.
  • Demonstrated, high-level of experience and knowledge of environmental investigation and remediation as they apply to commercial, industrial, and energy clients.
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, analytical thinker, problem solver with a driven work ethic.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior and mid-level staff.
  • Strong desire to help build and grow a client base through diverse business development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • PE, PG, or other professional certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain client relationships and work with clients to get their projects done on time, on budget, while exceeding expectations.
  • Leverage existing and develop new relationships with clients, vendors, and industry network to generate leads and opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Actively participate in industry or professional organizations and attend selected industry conferences with the goal of growing relationships and understanding market trends.
  • Assist or lead preparation of municipalities or other entity proposal/qualifications solicitations (RFPs/RFQs) with Investigation & Remediation-related scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with other divisions of the firm to drive cross-selling opportunities.
  • Serve as Principal in Charge for selected clients and projects, serving as liaison between client and project team.
  • Work with Project Managers (PMs) to develop and execute project scopes and drive project safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
  • Rally the project team, keep them on track, and drive projects to completion.
  • Work with Operational Managers to identify and develop staffing resources to prepare for and complete projects.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development to staff and PMs, including periodic training in field investigation methods.
  • Active participation in office engagement and team building events.
  • Perform technical work and serve as Senior Quality Reviewer of project deliverables on a variety of Investigation & Remediation projects including due diligence, TCEQ & RRC regulatory reporting, and risk-based assessments/remediation (e.g. TRRP, LPST).
