The Principal Safety & Health Specialist monitors, analyzes, and investigates workplace activities and potential hazards to support company initiatives within assigned area or facility(s) through review of work packages, assessments, walk downs, inspections, and/or observations. Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment. Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public. Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal, state, local and organization occupational safety and health standards, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained. Prepares and delivers reports and inputs information into database applications as required.
