Principal RF Signals Engineer

Nyla Technology Solutions•Annapolis Junction, MD
•$175,000 - $207,000

About The Position

We are seeking a Senior TechELINT & Signals Analysis Engineer to serve as a technical subject-matter expert driving a multidisciplinary signals approach to support Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) missions. The role focuses primarily on Technical Electronic Intelligence (TechELINT) and analysis of Signals of Interest (SOIs) across the end-to-end mission lifecycle, from tasking and processing through in-depth exploitation. The engineer will technically characterize unknown signals and their underlying networks, define signal parameters, model complex signal behavior, and associate key indicators to advance intelligence capabilities. An active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level is required. The annual base salary range is $175,000–$207,000 USD, excluding discretionary bonus compensation and the comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and other factors.

Requirements

  • Active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level.
  • Deep technical expertise in Technical Electronic Intelligence (TechELINT), including identification, analysis, and processing of Signals of Interest (SOIs).
  • Mastery of signal characteristics to determine structural parameters, model complex signal behavior, and technically characterize unknown or exotic signals and underlying network structures.
  • Multi-INT technical background across COMINT, ELINT, and FISINT disciplines.
  • End-to-end operational experience across tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TPED) for RDT&E efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, plus 11+ years of professional experience in data science, NLP, or software engineering; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED plus 15+ years of specialized technical experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience developing or applying digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for signal filtering, detection, spectral estimation, and feature extraction.
  • Expertise in automatic modulation classification and identification of advanced or complex digital communication protocols.
  • Broad understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) fundamentals, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and electromagnetic spectrum operations.
  • Completion of advanced military or agency signals analysis courses, such as 451/452 or equivalent specialized ELINT training.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a multidisciplinary signals approach in support of RDT&E missions.
  • Analyze Signals of Interest (SOIs) across the end-to-end mission lifecycle, including tasking, processing, and in-depth exploitation.
  • Perform technical characterization of unknown or exotic signals and their underlying networks.
  • Define signal parameters and model complex signal behavior.
  • Associate key indicators to advance intelligence capabilities.
  • Integrate technical expertise across COMINT, ELINT, and FISINT to support signal identification, association, and threat characterization.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package
