About The Position

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Principal Resource Assurance to join our team. The successful candidate will provides independent technical review of Mineral Resource estimates to ensure block models, estimation methodologies, and classification approaches meet corporate standards that are defensible for annual Resource reporting and disclosure. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field; or Bachelor of Science degree with equivalent experience required
  • Over eight (8) years’ experience in mine geology or exploration providing expert competence required
  • Proven ability to communicate optimally; both verbally and in writing required
  • Team leader with the ability to work collaboratively within a coordinated and agile multidisciplinary team, regardless of reporting structure required
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision required
  • Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Leapfrog, Deswik, Vulcan, and Acquire software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and implement company-wide standards for Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimation and classification.
  • Assess the robustness of geological models, grade estimation methodologies, classification approaches, and modifying factors.
  • Conduct independent reviews of Mineral Resource estimates prepared by site and regional teams.
  • Evaluate geological interpretations, domaining strategies, estimation methodologies, variography, and classification approaches.
  • Identify potential technical issues that could impact Resource confidence or estimation reliability.
  • Assess geological models that underpin Resource estimates to ensure they appropriately capture lithological domains, structural controls, alteration patterns, and mineralization continuity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve geological domaining and model interpretation.
  • Evaluate grade estimation methodologies, search strategies, and interpolation approaches used in Resource estimation.
  • Review the application of classification criteria and drill spacing assumptions used to support Resource confidence categories.
  • Ensure Resource estimates align with corporate estimation standards and best practices.
  • Identify geological and estimation risks that may impact Resource confidence, model robustness, or future Reserve conversion.
  • Highlight areas where additional data, drilling, or improved modeling approaches could reduce uncertainty.
  • Support structured technical assurance and peer review processes for Resource estimates across the portfolio.
  • Contribute technical expertise to reviews conducted prior to major project decisions or Resource disclosure.
  • Work with site geology teams to provide feedback on geological modeling and estimation approaches.
  • Assist operations in addressing technical issues identified during assurance reviews.
  • Promote adoption of industry best practices in geological modeling and Resource estimation.
  • Share lessons learned across operations to improve Resource modeling workflows and technical quality.
  • Execute resource models as required to support the CTO functions
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation of new or existing estimation workflows
  • Drive Mineral Resource Threshold standards including Resource Range Analyses as required.
  • Drive drillhole spacing optimization studies to ensure adequate drill planning to support resource conversions.
  • Active participation in independent peer reviews and estimation validation across the portfolio
  • Ensure integration of geology → metallurgy → mine planning and exploration ↔ mine geology
  • Deliver monthly reports tracking key geologic modeling priorities that are value-add to the business, track project progression, critical milestones, risks and opportunities, other as required
  • Deliver regular training to site teams on estimation and model validation workflows aligned to our Global Standards.
  • Coach and mentor site-level SMEs and technical teams
  • Ensure geologic modelling succession planning across portfolio
  • Escalation of material geological matters and disclosure risks to Director, Geology
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
