Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Radar Mode Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development teams for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools in radar-development software is required.
Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Must be able to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Nice To Haves

Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance
Experience developing Radar Software applications
Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system
Knowledge and experience with Radar SW Architecture, Signal or Data processing, including RF SP techniques, adv mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques and simulations
Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

Responsibilities

Work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
Effectively contribute at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
Utilize expert level investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
Work effectively with team across multiple disciplines, internal and external.
Effectively contribute to program and customer meetings/reviews.
Support the program leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.
Perform Technical leadership roles for multiple key tasks or line items on programs.
Mentor multiple engineers on programs in areas of knowledge and expertise.
Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.
Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.
Contribute significantly to the successful completion of program milestones and customer deliverables.
