Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field required
  • Over eight (8) years’ experience in mining engineering, mine geology or exploration providing expert competence required
  • Familiarity with International Reporting Codes and meets the requirements for Qualified Person under SEC and CIM regulations required
  • Proven ability to communicate optimally; both verbally and in writing required
  • Team leader with the ability to work collaboratively within a coordinated and agile multidisciplinary team, regardless of reporting structure required
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision required
  • Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical guidelines, procedures, and templates for Resource and Reserve compilation.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks (e.g., S‑K 1300, NI 43‑101, and JORC Code where relevant).
  • Support implementation of the company’s Resource & Reserve governance framework across the asset portfolio.
  • Ensure Resource and Reserve estimates are prepared in accordance with corporate standards, procedures, and reporting guidelines.
  • Promote consistent interpretation and application of classification criteria and modifying factors.
  • Conduct independent technical reviews of Resource and Reserve estimates prepared by site or regional teams.
  • Assess the robustness of geological models, grade estimation methodologies, classification approaches, and modifying factors.
  • Identify systematic differences in assumptions or methodologies between operations and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in the annual Resource and Reserve reporting cycle, reviewing submissions from operations for completeness and compliance with governance standards.
  • Ensure supporting documentation adequately justifies changes in Resources and Reserves.
  • Validate that Resource and Reserve estimates are technically defensible prior to compilation and disclosure.
  • Collaborate with geology, mine engineering, metallurgy, and planning teams to review the technical basis of Reserve assumptions.
  • Ensure appropriate integration between Resource models, mine planning inputs, and modifying factors used in Reserve determination.
  • Benchmark practices against industry standards and peer companies.
  • Identify technical risks that could materially impact Resource/Reserve confidence, mine planning, disclosure, or departures from company standards.
  • Support the annual Resource and Reserve reporting cycle through structured technical reviews and sign-off processes.
  • Review technical documentation supporting public disclosure and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance to site geology and mine engineering teams on Resource and Reserve governance requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate technical justification and audit trail for all reported changes in Resources and Reserves.
  • Prepare reconciliation summaries and change analyses for leadership and disclosure. 
  • Support improvements in Resource & Reserve governance processes, documentation standards, and technical review practices.
  • Promote adoption of industry best practices in Resource estimation, Reserve conversion, and reporting governance.
  • Assist in developing internal capability related to R&R governance standards and processes.
  • Work closely with the Qualified Person (QP) / Competent Person responsible for disclosure.
  • Escalation of material geological matters to Director, Geology
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
