About The Position

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Principal Project Engineer with proven experience in gas‑turbine engines, nacelle integration, or powerplant systems. This role supports high‑visibility projects for the HTF7000 turbofan engine family. As a Principal Project Engineer, you’ll partner with world-class engineering, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams to maintain fleet performance and ensure seamless propulsion system integration throughout the operational lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in design, development and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, engine control systems or other complex mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methods (e.g. Microsoft Project, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Earned Value Management System)
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

  • Proven leadership across complex technical programs, with cross‑functional coordination and project management responsibility including scope, schedule, budget, and earned value.
  • Deep understanding of FAA 14 CFR Part 33 and Part 25 engine and nacelle certification.
  • Direct experience with root-cause investigations, cost reduction, reliability improvements, or production support.
  • Strong systems engineering and requirements management skills spanning hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a sustaining engineering team responsible for production support, fleet reliability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee planning, prioritization, and execution of projects to meet performance, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Drive cross‑functional coordination to resolve technical issues spanning design, analysis, test, manufacturing, and field operations.
  • Partner with aircraft OEMs to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain alignment with program objectives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on technical deliverables, quality assurance, and schedule recovery; support trade studies and design improvements.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations for field reliability, in‑service events, and production escapes; ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Own cost accounts and manage budgets, forecasts, resource fill rates, and earned value performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Communicate team status, risks, recommendations, and recovery plans to leadership and customers; support formal program reviews.
