About The Position

EGS is seeking a Principal Business Analyst - Project Controls to support project controls, cost management, financial analysis, and scheduling activities for complex programs and projects at the Savannah River Site. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and oversight of project controls systems and processes that enable effective planning, scheduling, financial analysis, estimating, forecasting, and cost management throughout the lifecycle of major DOE projects and programs. The selected candidate will serve as a key advisor to management by providing advanced project controls expertise, financial insight, and strategic recommendations that support project execution and organizational objectives. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in project controls, earned value management, scheduling, cost analysis, forecasting, and business systems integration. Strong expertise with Primavera P6 and Deltek Cobra is required. This role requires excellent analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to support complex project environments within a highly regulated DOE/NNSA setting.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical discipline, or related field with 5 years of practical experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical discipline, or related field with 7 years of practical experience OR Associate's degree with 11 years of practical experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 15 years of relevant experience
  • Expert proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Expert proficiency with Deltek Cobra cost management software
  • Experience developing and maintaining project cost and schedule baselines
  • Experience with forecasting, variance analysis, cost management, and performance reporting
  • Strong understanding of project controls principles and methodologies
  • Experience developing work breakdown structures (WBS), milestone schedules, and spend plans
  • Advanced proficiency with project controls, financial analysis, and business systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous DOE or NNSA project experience
  • Active DOE L or Q Clearance within the past two years

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project cost and schedule baselines
  • Establish milestone schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and spend plans
  • Support planning, scheduling, estimating, forecasting, and performance management activities
  • Implement and maintain project controls systems and processes for complex projects and programs
  • Participate in project reviews, schedule reviews, and performance assessment meetings
  • Analyze cost and schedule performance against established baselines
  • Perform variance analysis and develop corrective action recommendations
  • Prepare financial forecasts, spend plans, and performance reports
  • Conduct financial analysis using statistical, trend, scenario, and performance modeling techniques
  • Support development and maintenance of indirect rates and overhead pool structures
  • Analyze business operations and identify opportunities to improve cost performance and productivity
  • Define requirements and support implementation of project controls and financial systems enhancements
  • Develop models and reporting tools to improve project performance visibility
  • Support integration of business systems and financial applications
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly project and financial reports for management review
  • Evaluate system effectiveness and recommend process improvements
  • Provide technical direction, guidance, and mentoring to project controls personnel
  • Support development and implementation of change management processes
  • Translate management objectives into actionable project controls strategies and plans
  • Support management decision-making through advanced analysis and recommendations
  • Serve as a liaison between project teams, customers, and management regarding project performance
  • Support project controls activities in accordance with applicable DOE requirements and business practices
  • Maintain working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Support compliance with established project controls, financial controls, and reporting requirements
  • Ensure project controls processes support effective management of scope, schedule, cost, and risk
