About The Position

The Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) organization is responsible for storing, picking, packing, and shipping products for sellers globally. As FBA looks toward the future, it is undergoing a transformation in how it organizes teams, develops leaders, and builds capabilities. This role is focused on ensuring FBA has the right talent, in the right roles, with the right skills for current and future needs. The work involves business strategy, organizational design, and talent development, requiring collaboration across multiple teams and geographies to create solutions at Amazon's scale. This is an opportunity to architect the future of talent and organizational design for a critical Amazon business, addressing challenges related to adapting workforce frameworks to technological change, creating relevant career pathways, and designing scalable yet flexible organizational structures. The role will influence how FBA thinks about skills, capabilities, and leadership development, impacting talent attraction, team development, succession planning, and organizational preparedness for future scenarios. The work involves building living frameworks that evolve with the business and collaborating directly with senior leaders across FBA and interconnected organizations, providing visibility into strategic priorities and shaping decisions affecting thousands of employees.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • 7+ years of program or project management experience
  • 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of current organizational structure, talent capabilities, and workforce composition across Worldwide FBA, identifying critical skill gaps, understanding talent distribution, and mapping the current state against future business needs.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into talent implications, helping leaders make informed decisions about capability building investments.
  • Design flexible organizational frameworks that can adapt to changing business needs and technological advancement, including creating modular approaches to role design focused on skills and capabilities.
  • Develop frameworks for understanding how different types of work evolve, which capabilities become more critical, and how roles might shift with technological changes.
  • Build scenarios for multiple possible futures and create organizational models that can flex to meet different strategic directions.
  • Create clear, flexible career pathways that enable talent to grow and move across Worldwide FBA, including designing frameworks for lateral mobility and identifying transferable skills.
  • Create development roadmaps to help employees build capabilities for future roles, break down silos, and create more fluid talent movement.
  • Design approaches to leadership assessment, development, and succession planning that prepare Worldwide FBA for multiple possible futures, identifying critical future leader capabilities and creating frameworks for assessing potential.
  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders across Worldwide FBA, HR business partners, and leaders in interconnected organizations.
  • Facilitate discussions about organizational design trade-offs, influence strategic decisions about talent and structure, and drive alignment on complex, ambiguous topics.
  • Create practical tools, frameworks, and guidelines for adoption across the organization, including assessment criteria, templates, and playbooks.
  • Ensure work is actionable and adoptable, partnering with implementation teams for successful rollout and iteration.
