Van Essen Instruments, part of AEM, develops connected environmental monitoring solutions for groundwater and surface water applications, combining embedded electronics, firmware, mechanical design, cloud connectivity, and secure data transfer. The company is seeking a Principal Product Systems Engineer to ensure engineering work results in production-ready products across their connected device portfolio. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on integrating hardware, firmware, cloud connectivity, and manufacturing to produce reliable, compliant products for global markets. The role involves working on multiple products in parallel, supporting new designs, product updates, and cybersecurity improvements, collaborating with internal engineers and external partners from concept through production. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving cross-disciplinary challenges and taking responsibility for real-world product delivery, while also understanding broader strategic objectives. The engineer will work within a small, nimble team, playing a key role in developing and delivering environmental monitoring systems worldwide, and will take technical ownership of connected products throughout their lifecycle.
