About The Position

The Principal, Product Strategy drives AI-powered product strategy initiatives by identifying, prioritizing, and building high-impact use cases through data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, thoughtful prioritization, and clear tradeoff decisions across multiple related product areas. AI Builder - This role requires a strong builder mindset, leveraging tools such as Wibey, Code Puppy, OpenAI, and other AI solutions to design and build capabilities that drive impactful outcomes. The Principal shapes long-term product vision by influencing senior stakeholders, guiding cross-functional teams, advancing innovation and operational excellence, and fostering a culture of rigorous analysis, experimentation, continuous improvement, and measurable business impact. The Global eCommerce Product Strategy & Operations team drives enterprise-wide product strategy and operational excellence across Walmart’s global eCommerce ecosystem, including Sam’s Club, International markets, and the U.S. The team connects business and product organizations, partnering across product, engineering, design, finance, and operations to improve alignment, execution speed, and decision-making. Key focus areas include optimizing product investments toward high-ROI opportunities, advancing multi-tenant platform capabilities, and leading strategic innovation initiatives that scale through build/buy/partner models. The team also enhances product operating efficiency, including initiatives like AIDLC, and supports leaders through prioritization, research, analysis, and strategy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience driving product strategy and prioritization through data-driven insights and business impact.
  • Strong builder mindset with hands-on experience prototyping and developing AI-powered solutions.
  • Proficiency with AI tools and technologies, including LLMs and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities, make tradeoff decisions, and focus teams on high-value outcomes.
  • Experience partnering across Product, Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, and Business teams to deliver results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment.
  • Passion for innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years’ experience in product management.
  • 11 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 8 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

  • Translate customer feedback, product data, and insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Influence senior leaders on product strategy, investment priorities, and long-term vision through rigorous analysis.
  • Drive innovation and excellence by applying AI to improve outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and best practices in AI-enabled building.
