About The Position

We are seeking a creative and passionate designer to join our team. You will work with our product, engineering and operations teams to create exceptional, user-friendly experiences. You'll work on a cutting-edge product that enables our members to access their health data in real-time, and you'll be challenged to make a difference in people's lives. The ideal candidate is comfortable working through ambiguity, complex data visualization, meticulous in their attention to detail, self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. As an early member of our team, your contributions will play a critical role in shaping the future of our member experience as we scale from currently thousands of members to millions.

Requirements

Proven Experience: 8+ years experience, with at least 3 years of UI/UX design experience and 2 years of dedicated product design experience.
Design Mastery: Proficient in design principles and best practices, including typography, desktop/mobile UI, color schemes, layout, and iconography.
Portfolio: Possesses a diverse and compelling online portfolio that showcases a wide range of design projects.
Critical Thinking: Willingness to challenge assumptions and commit to ongoing professional development.
Bias Toward Action: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, make decisions under uncertainty, and move projects forward even in the face of ambiguity. We value individuals who are self-starters and ready to act on opportunities and challenges alike.

Nice To Haves

Figma Expertise: Experience with designing in Figma, showcasing proficiency in utilizing this modern design tool for creating dynamic and responsive designs.
UX Research Leadership: Experience in leading or participating in user experience research, demonstrating a deep understanding of how to derive actionable insights from user interactions.
Developer Collaboration: Experience working closely with front-end developers, along with a basic understanding of front-end technologies. Knowledgeable in cross-platform design principles for web, iOS, and Android, ensuring seamless user experiences across all platforms.
Start-Up Experience: We highly value individuals with start-up experience, especially former founders or early hires. This experience indicates a versatile skill set and an ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Familiarity with Health Technologies: Knowledge of or experience with popular health technologies, such as Oura, Whoop, Apple Watch, and CGMs (Continuous Glucose Monitors). An interest in or experience with health and wellness technologies suggests a passion for leveraging technology to improve personal and community health outcomes.

Responsibilities

Product Understanding: Comprehend product goals, identify requirements, and address user problems to optimize both member impact and company benefits.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams through the design process, ensuring the successful implementation of new features and functionalities across multiple platforms.
Solution Presentation: Illustrate and present creative solutions that enhance user experience; effectively communicate design rationale to stakeholders.
Research and Integration: Support user experience research, share findings, and integrate insights into product development to continually refine user interactions.
Design System Management: Work within, expand, and maintain a comprehensive and efficient design system, ensuring consistency and quality in design outputs.
