About The Position

Fetch is seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead the long-term experience direction for how users discover, understand, and act on earning opportunities. This role will focus on unifying the connected experiences across Ad Surfaces including Home, Search, Navigation, and Earnings, ensuring they function as a cohesive, relevant, and rewarding system. The designer will own the quality and outcomes of these critical user-facing experiences, establishing principles, patterns, and decision frameworks. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on influencing through design craft, clear thinking, and leadership, involving hands-on design from vision to iteration. The ideal candidate is motivated to build standards and positively impact millions of users daily. This is a full-time position that can be based in a US office or remote within the United States.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of product design experience.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-quarter product initiatives across multiple teams, surfaces, or customer journeys.
  • Experience owning measurable customer and business outcomes for a broad product area, beyond just creating artifacts or isolated features.
  • Deep expertise in information architecture, navigation, discovery, and systems thinking for complex consumer products.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous customer, business, and technical problems into clear direction, testable hypotheses, and durable solutions.
  • Experience influencing senior Product and Engineering leaders on strategy, roadmap choices, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Habit of partnering with Research to identify unmet needs and validate new directions before committing engineering investment.
  • Evidence of establishing standards, patterns, frameworks, or ways of working that improved product quality and team effectiveness across a broad product area.
  • Exceptional interaction and visual-design craft, with a high standard for usability, accessibility, and production quality.
  • History of mentoring experienced designers and raising the quality of team critique, feedback, and decision-making.
  • Comfort operating across diverse squads and teams with different norms and priorities, building trust quickly without formal authority.
  • Comfort operating in environments where the problem, process, and path to impact are still being defined.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing consumer mobile products at a significant scale.
  • Experience with rewards, loyalty, commerce, marketplaces, gaming, personalization, or repeat-engagement mechanics.
  • Experience developing experimentation strategies with Analytics or Data Science partners.
  • Experience partnering with content design, illustration, motion, or brand teams.
  • Experience launching a zero-to-one product area or evolving a mature product's experience architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-quarter initiatives across Home, Search, Navigation, and Earnings to ensure they function as a unified discovery and earning experience.
  • Define the architecture of the earning journey, including information hierarchy, navigation, surface roles, interaction principles, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to identify high-value opportunities, shape the roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and make investment decisions.
  • Develop frameworks to balance user value, business goals, technical constraints, personalization, experimentation, and customer trust.
  • Define the team's approach to experimenting with new earning opportunities to improve comprehension, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with Research to identify unmet user needs and potential earning opportunities, translating early insights into viable concepts.
  • Elevate the standard for usability, accessibility, interaction quality, visual craft, and design system consistency within the product area.
  • Identify recurring experience issues and develop reusable patterns, principles, and tools to enhance quality and team efficiency.
  • Communicate design strategy effectively through writing and conversation, translating it into actionable trade-offs for leadership and narratives for Product and Engineering alignment.
  • Improve the quality of design critique and feedback within the team, mentoring other designers to foster growth and independent decision-making.
