Principal Product Definition Engineer – Gas Turbines

About The Position

This position reports to the manager of the Propulsion and APU Product Definition group within the Engines and Power Systems organization. The successful candidate will engage in Fan, Shaft, APU and other advanced technology concept studies along with competitive and roadmap assessments. System engineering support is needed to develop and optimize the conceptual propulsion and APU system studies that are part of IPDS Phase 0-2A. Turbofan activity is currently focused on IPDS Phase 2 of the HTF-NG concept with APU activity focused on both wide and narrow body applications along with small APU growth as well as roadmap assessments. Efforts will include support of proposals to win customer selection. The candidate will support and report out to key stakeholders within the Engines and Power Systems organization, including Business, Project, Technical, and the Advanced Technology organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in Fan, Shaft, APU and other advanced technology concept studies.
  • Conduct competitive and roadmap assessments.
  • Provide system engineering support to develop and optimize conceptual propulsion and APU system studies.
  • Support turbofan activity focused on IPDS Phase 2 of the HTF-NG concept.
  • Support APU activity focused on both wide and narrow body applications, small APU growth, and roadmap assessments.
  • Support proposals to win customer selection.
