As part of the Manufacturing Innovation and Technology engineering team within Medtronic’s Operations Innovation organization, the Additive Metals Principal Technology Development Engineer will serve as a technical lead driving additive manufacturing capabilities across the operations network. Operating within the Additive Metals Center of Excellence (COE) framework, this role focuses primarily on optimizing and scaling existing metal additive processes while maturing new technologies through rigorous feasibility testing, experimental design, and proof-of-concept validation. While supporting technology scouting efforts, the candidate will leverage deep technical expertise in laser-based powder bed fusion (L-PBF) processes, parameter development, and material characterization to execute complex technical projects and deliver robust, scalable manufacturing solutions.
