About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is developing and managing large-scale, highly available cloud services within a distributed, multi-tenant environment. The OCI Exec Service team is responsible for a core execution platform that supports various OCI lifecycle and deployment systems. This platform handles tasks such as deployment validation, canaries, build-related executions, artifact workflows, and operational automation across both commercial and government regions. The role involves designing, building, and operating distributed systems in production, focusing on core components like APIs, orchestration workflows, execution scheduling, Kubernetes-based infrastructure, service reliability, security, observability, and automation. The position requires significant engineering expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to work independently on major features while also collaborating with other OCI service teams.

Requirements

Strong distributed systems fundamentals.
Practical production experience.
Experience designing major features, taking them through design review, implementation, testing, launch, and operational support.
Understanding of how to build resilient, observable, secure, and maintainable services.
Strong coding skills.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate distributed systems in production.
Work on core components of Exec Service, including APIs, orchestration workflows, execution scheduling, Kubernetes-based execution infrastructure, service reliability, security hardening, observability, and automation.
Design major features, taking them through design review, implementation, testing, launch, and operational support.
Build services that are resilient, observable, secure, and maintainable.
Dive deep into service APIs, orchestration logic, Kubernetes execution environments, persistence layers, networking behavior, and production operations.
Scale a high-volume execution platform that runs many short-lived workloads across regions and enclaves.
Modernize service operations using AI.
