About The Position

We’re looking for software engineers with strong SRE instincts to help build and operate the GitHub Enterprise platform at scale. This role is for developers who care about reliable systems, clean APIs, automation, observability, and production-quality code. You’ll own and evolve platform components, improve service contracts for multi-tenant use, debug issues across service boundaries, and build resilience patterns that make the platform safer, faster, and easier for engineering teams to consume. You’ll design, code, test, optimize, and support software that has real operational impact. The ideal candidate has experience building production services, troubleshooting complex systems, improving reliability, and reducing toil through automation. You should be comfortable working across code, APIs, logs, metrics, incidents, customer issues, and long-term platform improvements. This is not a pure operations role. It’s a hands-on development role for engineers who know that great software is observable, resilient, secure, and built to survive production.
