About The Position

Ashley Digital is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and delivery pipelines for its digital experience ecosystem, including the core ecommerce platform and the broader web traffic, CDN, and routing layers that serve customers. The role combines hands-on infrastructure ownership with DevOps leadership and guidance on Site Reliability Engineering practices, and drives KPIs for measuring and managing platforms and services. The engineer leads the DevOps approach across Azure, GCP, and AWS; establishes standards and reusable workflows for multi-cloud, multi-team delivery pipelines; and supports deployment velocity, reliability, and rollback safety. The role also owns observability, routing and edge architecture, incident detection, infrastructure cost visibility, and optimization. The position serves as a technical authority and mentors engineers through documentation, tooling, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Strong experience building and operating monitoring and alerting stacks, such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana/Prometheus, or Splunk.
  • Proven experience designing CI/CD pipelines and working in multi-cloud environments across Azure, GCP, and AWS.
  • Direct experience migrating CI/CD pipelines to GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or similar tools.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TLS, HTTP/2/3, WAF, and load balancing.
  • Experience with cloud cost management tools and practices, such as Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, AWS Cost Explorer, or FinOps practices.

  • Own infrastructure, alerting, and monitoring for the core ecommerce platform.
  • Build and maintain observability, including metrics, logs, and alerting, to support platform reliability and fast incident detection.
  • Partner with ecommerce engineering teams to define SLOs and SLAs and reduce operational risk.
  • Manage digital experience infrastructure, including CDN, reverse proxies, and traffic routing.
  • Design and operate routing and edge architecture to support performance, availability, and security across customer-facing properties.
  • Evaluate and evolve CDN and edge strategy to support new digital initiatives.
  • Lead DevOps for the digital experience across Azure, GCP, and AWS resources.
  • Drive migration of existing pipelines to GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Define standards, reusable workflows, and governance for multi-cloud, multi-team delivery pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and rollback safety.
  • Serve as the technical authority on digital experience infrastructure and DevOps strategy.
  • Mentor engineers on infrastructure, observability, and DevOps best practices.
  • Promote best practices through documentation, tooling, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Own visibility and optimization of infrastructure and processing costs across cloud providers.
