About The Position

We’re looking for a Principal, People Strategy & Program Manager to drive the execution of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that advance the People Team’s strategic priorities and broader enterprise goals. Reporting to the Director, Head of People Strategy & Programs, this role is critical in turning strategy into action—combining structured planning, disciplined execution, analytical insight, and creative problem-solving. This individual will operate at the intersection of strategy and operations, with the ability to connect vision to execution, conduct data-driven analyses, and influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, comfort with data and ambiguity, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to evolving team and company culture. This is a high-visibility, high-impact individual contributor role, ideal for someone who listens first, builds trust-based relationships, and takes initiative to lead through influence rather than authority.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6–10 years in strategy, operations, consulting, or program management in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and influence at all levels.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled at listening, building rapport, and cultivating strong partnerships across teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to zoom out to see the big picture, while quickly connecting it to actionable execution.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: Confident navigating change and bringing structure to open-ended problems.
  • Project Leadership: Proven track record of independently managing complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion.
  • Problem Solving: Strong ability to structure problems, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Data & Analytical Skills: Comfort working with data to conduct analyses, synthesize insights, and make strategic recommendations.
  • People Function Knowledge: Experience working with or supporting People-related functions (e.g., HR, Org Design, Talent) required.

Responsibilities

  • Execution: Lead and execute complex, cross-functional initiatives that directly support the People Team’s most important strategic goals. Connect the dots across teams, identify risks and dependencies, and help translate strategy into clear, actionable work.
  • Strategy & Analysis: Partner closely with leaders to define problems, structure initiatives, and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform decisions. Use data to uncover insights, identify trends, and measure impact.
  • Program & Project Management: Own end-to-end planning and delivery of strategic programs. Create detailed project plans, establish governance routines, monitor progress, and ensure accountability across workstreams.
  • Problem Solving & Agility: Bring a scrappy, solutions-oriented mindset to ambiguous challenges. Proactively identify obstacles, adapt plans, and guide teams through uncertainty to outcomes.
  • Operational Rhythm & Governance: Support the development and facilitation of operating cadences, such as quarterly planning, strategy reviews, and leadership team check-ins.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Build trusted relationships across People Team leaders and cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Tech, Legal). Align on priorities, clarify ownership, and foster collaboration.
  • Change Management & Communications: Co-create thoughtful communication and change enablement strategies that support initiative success, team alignment, and adoption.
  • Cultural Integration: Actively listen and adapt to the evolving needs and culture of the organization. Balance strategic rigor with empathy and understanding of Chime’s values and ways of working.
