For more information, visit www.ifc.org The Regional Vice President (RVP) for Asia and the Pacific (APAC) is looking to recruit a Principal Operations Officer, based in Washington, DC and reporting to the RVP. S/he will support the RVP in all aspects of the VPU’s work. The role requires deep knowledge of IFC’s strategy and operations, cross-sector knowledge and understanding of the private sector, sound judgment and ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders to support regional priorities. S/he will also serve as the key headquarters-based liaison for the RVP and will work closely with the APAC Leadership Team, front office staff, other IFC teams and key stakeholders across the WBG to advance IFC’s development and investment agenda in APAC.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business, economics, finance, public policy, or other relevant fields.
  • At least 15 years of relevant WBG experience.
  • Ability to handle a large workload, balance and prioritize competing demands under high-pressure, and quickly respond to complex demands.
  • A proven ability to work independently, with demonstrated organizational, analytical, and logistical skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Capacity to follow up systematically and efficiently on a broad set of initiatives and decisions.
  • Strong initiative and record of high performance with low supervisory requirements to function effectively as a team member within an unstructured and pressured work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, a high degree of tact and discretion in dealing with internal and external clients, staff, and managers at all levels, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Commitment to the World Bank Group's and IFC's mission, strategy, and values.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • A clear understanding of WBG's Operational Procedures & Principles, Policies and Guidelines, and other day-to-day processes.
  • Flexibility in work hours, as needed, to accommodate the heavy demands and pace of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Represent VP as needed in various engagements in DC.
  • Lead coordination with MD, Knowledge Bank, and other DC based offices.
  • Lead MT, CRC and other operational committee reviews and preparations.
  • Lead Spring and Annual Meeting preparations.
  • Lead on E&S Makers / CAO / risk related matters.
  • Lead IFC investment operations matters for new business that require RVP engagement / approval for allocated sub-region.
  • Support thematic Board engagement and SEC coordination.
