About The Position

The Principal Network Engineer supports RTX's Classified Network Services team, responsible for designing, administering, and securing enterprise LAN/WAN, data center, and firewall infrastructure across classified environments. The role supports critical collaboration and connectivity needs for Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and U.S. government customers, with a primary work location in Tewksbury, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Candidate must possess an active DoD Secret clearance on Day 1 and maintain throughout employment and be potentially clearable through Top Secret.
  • Have a DoD 8570 – IAT .Level III security certification (e.g CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP) or able to obtain one within 6 months of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Network Administrator in classified environments, supporting enterprise Cisco networking infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco NGFW, Cisco ASA, Nexus/NX-OS, Palo Alto firewalls, and LAN/WAN routing and switching technologies.
  • Experience with VPNs, HAIPE encryptors, ISE, CUCM/CMS, authentication services, network monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and network automation using Ansible or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, and upgrade (software/firmware/hardware) LAN/WAN components including routers, switches, firewalls.
  • Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize network system performance, proactively identifying and quickly resolving service impacting issues.
  • Drive and/or participate in large projects in support of installation and/or improvement to voice, video, and network infrastructure.
  • Produce, update and generally improve technical documentation to support security requirements and operational support of systems.
  • Review systems vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with recognized industry standards and best practices.
