About The Position

The Principal Member of Technical Staff will conduct design, development, and certification work in the areas of new Broadband and Transport products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security, and QA Design/Certification. This role serves as a subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle within an architectural environment focused on complex design, engineering, and development. The position requires deep technical knowledge in Broadband technologies such as PON (Passive Optical Networks) and related fiber and copper access technologies, utilizing TCP/IP network architecture for design, engineering, and testing, and troubleshooting in Carrier grade networks. Expertise in Broadband access technologies like GPON, E-PON, NG-PON2, XGS-PON, and evolving Passive Optical Networking (PON) technology standards is essential.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing TCP/IP network architecture for design, engineering, and testing.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience troubleshooting in Carrier grade networks.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience with Broadband access technologies such as GPON, E-PON, NG-PON2, XGS-PON and evolving Passive Optical Networking (PON) technology standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct design, development and certification work in the areas of new Broadband and Transport products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/Certification.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in an architectural environment focused on complex design, engineering and development.
  • Serve as SME with deep technical knowledge in Broadband technologies such as PON (Passive Optical Networks) and related fiber and copper access technologies.
  • Utilize TCP/IP network architecture for design, engineering, and testing.
  • Troubleshoot in Carrier grade networks.
  • Work with Broadband access technologies such as GPON, E-PON, NGPON2, XGS-PON and evolving Passive Optical Networking (PON) technology standards.
