About The Position

Join Worley’s Monrovia office as a Principal Mechanical Engineer within the Rotating Engineering Group, where you’ll provide technical and leadership excellence across multidisciplinary projects. In this role, you’ll lead project execution and discipline deliverables, ensuring alignment with company and client procedures while driving continuous improvement in work processes. You’ll develop innovative technical solutions to complex engineering challenges, oversee and mentor a team of engineers, and support the successful delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted office procedures.
Typically, minimum of 8 years of Rotating (Compressor and Pump) Engineering experience in Petroleum-Chemical Industry.
5 years in other Mechanical equipment or packaged equipment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Emphasis on reciprocating compressor experience, with working knowledge of API 617, 614, 670 and 671.
On-site and/or in-refinery experience.
Oil and Gas experience.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of API, ANSI, NEMA, ASTM specifications.

Responsibilities

Work within a team framework of other disciplines and understand the broad organizational implications of the work being performed.
Update schedules and progress reports.
Generate budgets for new work.
Interface with Project Management and the Customers regularly.
Develop/check specifications, data sheets, technical bids, purchase orders, resolve technical queries from vendors on various Compressor and Pump equipment, coordinate project requirements with other disciplines, project staff and clients.
Maintain quality deliverables throughout the procurement of the equipment.
Support work share activities with overseas offices on Rotating Equipment deliverables.
Develop/support hour estimation, TIC estimates, deliverable requirements and personnel loading for the Rotating Engineering scope of the project.
Support or fill in for the Mechanical lead as requested.
