Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Manufacturing Analyst based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Join a high-impact analytics team that supports the entire SLC site—partnering with supply, production, materials, repairs, and engineering across multiple factories—to uncover issues, drive continuous process improvements, and deliver data-driven change that keeps our operations running at their best.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in analyzing the aspects related to manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience using SQL to query, join, and analyze data from relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with Excel and data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Experience presenting to management.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries, aggregations, and performance‑conscious joins.
  • Experience building reusable views, stored queries, or reports that support manufacturing metrics (WIP, throughput, cycle time, on‑time delivery, etc.).
  • Experience integrating SQL-based data sets into reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, etc.).
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar) and understanding of how manufacturing data is structured.

Responsibilities

  • Supports production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering.
  • The incumbent may facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skill areas to teams and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Incumbents are generally experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations.
  • The ideal candidate must have an understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution, etc.), excellent listening, interpersonal, written, oral communication skills, and analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
