About The Position

This is a part-time, on-site position supporting the ALOFT Task Order, providing Systems Engineering support for D24 Technical Code. The role involves analyzing the effects of design changes on the combat system and providing recommendations in engineering working groups. The engineer will also analyze and recommend mechanical and electrical design changes for their impact on technical manuals. This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills for presenting at formal program reviews. The engineer must be able to work independently, providing professional document development, information management, and analysis services, and develop workable project schedules for complex, time-sensitive tasks. A background check and security clearance are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar discipline.
  • Ten (10) years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in equipment engineering changes, maintenance procedures, and technical manual changes for Aegis Weapon Systems.
  • Extensive knowledge in the COTS Technology Refresh Programs, Engineering Change Process and Ship Alterations/ORDALT planning.
  • Experience in Navy test and analysis, in-service engineering and logistics support of shipboard combat systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project planning and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and able to present at formal program reviews.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to satisfactorily complete background check and receive/maintain a security clearance.
  • Able to write, speak and understand English.

  • Experience with PHD organization, policies and logistics procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Review Engineering Changes and determine the impact on provisioning.
  • Analyze the effects of design changes to the combat system and provide recommendations in engineering working groups.
  • Analyze and recommend mechanical and electrical design changes for impact to technical manuals.
  • Interface and provide work status to various NAVSEA managers, design agents, PEO Program and Project Offices.
  • Develop workable project schedules to ensure completion of complex, time-sensitive tasking.
  • Provide professional document development, information management, and analysis services.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Write, speak, and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports.
