About The Position

WSP USA is seeking a Principal / Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight on complex infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for delivering high-level design solutions and leading multidisciplinary teams within our movable bridge group. This role can sit out of various WSP offices, including: Tampa, Miami, Sunrise, or Orlando.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
15+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design, inspection and project leadership.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Excellence in analytical techniques in solving technical problems with a high degree of complexity.
Demonstrate the highest level of quality excellence in technical performance and assurance through innovative thinking and application of tools.
Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
Proven experience with client management and business development.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems across large-scale infrastructure projects.
Responsible for single and three phase power distribution (low and medium voltage) and controls for project systems and subsystems design, calculations, construction support, and commissioning.
Serve as Engineer of Record and technical authority for electrical designs.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
Oversee preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, and reports.
Lead multidisciplinary coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Lead advance technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases and presentations to clients.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
Support business development, proposal preparation, and client relationships.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
