As a senior-level professional, the Principal Land Surveyor works independently with minimal supervision. This role directs the preparation of survey engineering designs, establishes methodologies, and oversees the execution of engineering surveys for the most complex and large-scale projects. The Principal Land Surveyor leads the activities of Senior Land Surveyors, Project Surveyors, Chiefs of Party, and other field and office personnel, as well as contractors, in providing surveying, mapping, legal descriptions, and related deliverables in support of major company projects. Works directly with planners, engineers, and business partners to assess project needs and develop plans and schedules supporting these activities. Additionally, the role represents the company in meetings and negotiations with planning departments and local, state, and federal agencies to protect the company’s interests. Responsibilities also include preparing expert analyses and providing testimony as an Expert Witness on land-related matters. Candidates must possess a valid California Professional Land Surveyor license or be a pre-1982 California Registered Civil Engineer. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need. Travel Estimated at 1-2 days out of the work week to report to Dublin, CA office.
