The Test Equipment Development group within the Production, Mission, Operations and Enhancements division at Draper is seeking a Principal LabVIEW Test Equipment Development Engineer to lead multidisciplinary strategic systems test equipment development, providing full system lifecycle development and management of complex electrical, mechanical and software-based test equipment. Responsibilities include: Lead the development of test equipment or system testing through the product lifecycle Gain a strong understanding of the Unit Under Test to derive test equipment requirements, design, and architecture Utilize and drive Model Based Systems Engineering approaches for open/flexible architectures to be used across programs and units under test Generate plans for the development, maintenance, and upgrade of hardware and software for new and existing test equipment systems Lead internal and external collaborative development environments Apply strong systems engineering principles to product or test equipment development processes could include leading all aspects of Integration & Test and data package development and release Key job elements include the ability to engage with customers and translate requirements and functions to test equipment designs for any of the following: o Highly accurate strategic sensors o Inertial navigation systems o Fault tolerant computing o Enhanced ground testing o Integration and test environments o Engineering qualification, surveillance, and factory acceptance test equipment architecture (e.g. rate tables, centrifuges) Duties/Responsibilities Manage and control priorities, scope, schedule, and cost to baselines by proactively monitoring program/task performance across larger activities. Independently derive system-level I&T requirements based on mission requirements and defines plans, approaches, and detailed test procedures to solve complex I&T problems. Helps customers understand and adequately mitigate and resolve I&T risks and issues. Subject Matter Expert (SME) able to develop and implement I&T approaches through a program lifecycle. Identify program/system-level I&T technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies. Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced engineers. Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve program goals. Performs other duties as assigned.
