About The Position

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the SE&TC Center seeks a Senior Lab Hardware & Antenna Engineer to lead phased array antenna test readiness, Special Test Equipment (STE) governance, and cross-functional hardware integration activities within a dynamic engineering lab environment in McKinney, Texas. This role provides technical leadership in validating production readiness, developing advanced test methodologies, and ensuring the availability and performance of antenna test assets.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in antenna testing, RF systems, phased array calibration, lab operations, or hardware integration
  • Knowledge executing and troubleshooting antenna measurements.
  • Experience leading hardware readiness, configuration control, and equipment governance activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or leading Special Test Equipment (STE) operations.
  • Strong background in RF measurement systems, calibration processes, and production test environments.
  • MATLAB, CST Studio Suite, NSI2000, or related antenna modeling/test tools.
  • Knowledge of how to apply methods that enhance technical processes, workflows, or hardware integration efficiency.
  • Background with industries such as aerospace, defense, or other regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level technical leadership for lab hardware operations, phased-array antenna test execution, and STE readiness.
  • Lead development and implementation of advanced antenna and RF test methodologies supporting production and R&D programs.
  • Direct integration, calibration coordination, and troubleshooting activities for phased array antenna systems.
  • Oversee asset tracking, calibration records, and compliance controls for STE and antenna test equipment.
  • Serve as the primary interface to design engineers, calibration SMEs, and production teams.
  • Guide lab configuration management, hardware setup, readiness evaluations, and test event planning.
  • Support failure investigations, manufacturing method assessments, and antenna performance root-cause analysis.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to optimize lab throughput and hardware utilization.
