About The Position

The Principal IT Engineer - Corporate IT is accountable for the strategy, reliability, security, compliance readiness, and operational performance of Federated Wireless' corporate IT environment. This role owns corporate infrastructure, networking, endpoints, identity and access management, SaaS platforms, cybersecurity controls, audiovisual systems, IT asset lifecycle, procurement coordination, disaster recovery/business continuity readiness, and end-user support. The Principal IT Engineer serves as the internal owner, escalation point, technical approver, and operational leader for Corporate IT. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, security awareness, documentation discipline, hands-on execution, and the ability to translate business needs into reliable and cost-effective IT outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive IT experience, including ownership of corporate IT infrastructure, endpoint support, networks, SaaS platforms, and identity/access management.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate IT systems, networking, endpoint management, desktop support, AV systems, SaaS administration, software licensing, and asset management.
  • Experience with identity and access management, including SSO, MFA, account lifecycle management, access reviews, and role-based access controls.
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices, patch management, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, secure configuration, and IT policy enforcement.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, customer security reviews, compliance evidence, risk assessments, and remediation plans.
  • Strong project management, documentation, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound technical and business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to respond to critical outages, security issues, or business-impacting IT issues outside standard business hours as needed.
  • Experience in SaaS, telecom, cloud, federal/government-supporting, or regulated technology environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Okta, JumpCloud, Jamf, Intune, Jira, Confluence, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar enterprise IT platforms.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC, or customer security audit requirements.
  • Certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, AWS, Azure, or Google Workspace Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Own the corporate IT operating model, roadmap, standards, and service expectations for Federated Wireless.
  • Plan, scale, and improve corporate IT infrastructure, networks, endpoint services, collaboration tools, SaaS applications, AV systems, and office technology in partnership with business leaders.
  • Serve as the accountable internal owner for IT service quality, reliability, security, documentation, cost efficiency, and user experience.
  • Define IT service requirements, standards, runbooks, support procedures, escalation paths, and operational controls.
  • Identify IT risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities and drive practical remediation plans to completion.
  • Ensure high-quality end-user IT support for onboarding, offboarding, hardware/software support, account provisioning, access removal, office moves, AV support, and ongoing technical assistance.
  • Maintain and improve IT operations processes, including help desk workflow, training materials, support documentation, endpoint health, asset inventory, and service request prioritization.
  • Lead IT projects end-to-end, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, documentation, communication, and post-implementation validation.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, asset tracking, license management, hardware refresh planning, and lifecycle management for IT assets and software subscriptions.
  • Develop and track IT operational metrics, including ticket volume, response time, resolution time, user satisfaction, asset accuracy, endpoint compliance, and patch status.
  • Maintain practical operating documentation for IT systems, support processes, architecture, ownership, troubleshooting, and escalation procedures.
  • Own corporate IT security controls in partnership with Security, Engineering, and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Manage identity and access management processes, including SSO, MFA, role-based access, account provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews.
  • Assess and improve cybersecurity controls across endpoints, networks, SaaS platforms, and corporate systems.
  • Ensure timely vulnerability remediation, patching, secure configuration, endpoint protection, access control, logging, and incident response coordination.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce IT policies, procedures, security best practices, acceptable-use standards, and operational controls.
  • Support audits, customer security reviews, compliance evidence collection, risk assessments, and remediation tracking.
  • Own and continuously improve Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity policies, procedures, testing plans, accountability models, and documentation for corporate IT systems.
  • Validate backup, recovery, continuity, escalation, and communication procedures with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain practical recovery objectives and response plans to minimize business disruption and support Federated Wireless customer-facing SLA obligations.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, Security, Engineering, Product Development, and business leaders to ensure IT services meet business, security, compliance, and operational needs.
  • Communicate IT status, risks, project progress, incidents, remediation plans, and investment needs to leadership.
  • Work closely with Product Development and Security teams to ensure corporate IT practices support broader company compliance and customer obligations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional IT needs such as employee lifecycle events, office moves, system access, security reviews, audits, and business continuity planning.
