About The Position

The Investor Relations team serves as a bridge between Columbia Sportswear, the investment community, and company leadership. It communicates the company's financial performance, business strategy, and long-term growth opportunities while sharing investor and analyst perspectives with leadership.

The Principal, Investor Relations supports financial analysis, executive communications, earnings preparation, market intelligence, and investor engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director, Investor Relations, this role partners with Finance and business leaders to develop insights that inform communications with analysts and investors. It suits a finance professional who enjoys analyzing business performance and market expectations and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights.

This is a hybrid role based at Columbia Sportswear's headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is onsite work four days per week, subject to change based on business needs and company discretion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Investor Relations, FP&A, Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking, or a related financial analysis function.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
• Experience developing executive-level presentations, analyses, and business recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Strong business and financial acumen; ability to synthesize complex information into concise, actionable insights.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting Investor Relations activities for a publicly traded company.
• Experience with earnings preparation, executive communications, board materials, or investor presentations.
• Knowledge of capital markets, equity research, and investor communications.
• Experience within consumer products, retail, apparel, footwear, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of Investor Relations strategies and initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain financial analyses, forecasts, models, and supporting materials for earnings communications and investor engagement.
• Assist with quarterly earnings materials, investor presentations, executive briefing documents, and related communications.
• Analyze company performance, industry trends, peer performance, analyst research, and investor sentiment to identify insights and emerging issues.
• Partner with Finance and business leaders to understand operational and financial performance drivers.
• Support preparation for earnings calls, investor meetings, conferences, and other investment-community engagements.
• Develop presentations and analyses communicating business results, strategic priorities, and market trends to executive leadership.
• Monitor and summarize analyst reports, market activity, and competitive developments.
• Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives supporting the Investor Relations function.
