About The Position

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking a Principal, Infrastructure Engineering to maintain and execute organizational policies, procedures, and controls, including configuration management, release and deployment management, service monitoring, support, and problem management. This role is responsible for the overall on-premise infrastructure (servers and storage) architecture and CI/CD pipelines, as well as the optimization, documentation, and support of infrastructure components hosted in on-premises data centers and the AWS cloud. The Principal will take ownership of the DevOps discipline, manage server/infrastructure related issues in AWS, and monitor server and storage performance in both on-premise and AWS environments. Key responsibilities include designing and building CI/CD platforms using Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions, supporting and troubleshooting infrastructure issues in production, and evaluating new tools and technologies to improve continuous integration environments. The role also involves managing Linux, Windows, VMWARE, and Storage on-premise environments, performing Root Cause Analysis on reported issues, and designing, developing, and deploying AWS cloud services. Additionally, the Principal will design and build cloud security architecture for AWS or Azure platforms, act as a subject matter expert for complex problem resolution, and partner with various infrastructure and development teams. This position allows for up to 40% telecommuting and qualifies for The Options Clearing Corporation’s Employee Referral Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related
  • Five (5) years of experience as an infrastructure engineer, infrastructure architect, systems engineer, or related
  • Design, develop and deploy AWS cloud services, as well as integrate with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Azure, Cisco compute and networking, or VMware Pivotal/Tanzu and VMware virtualization
  • Develop financial business applications using Java, Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Design and build cloud security architecture for AWS or Azure platforms, which consists of Microservices, Serverless, multi-cloud, hybrid cloud, compliance and regulatory strategy
  • Design and build CI/CD platform using Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and execute organizational policies, procedures and controls, configuration management, release and deployment management, service monitoring, support, and problem management.
  • Responsible for the overall on-premise infrastructure (servers and storage) architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Responsible for optimization, documentation, and support of the infrastructure components of OCC hosted in the on-premises data centers and the AWS cloud.
  • Take ownership of the DevOps discipline and be responsible for managing server/infrastructure related issues in AWS.
  • Responsible for monitoring server and storage performance in on-premise and AWS.
  • Design and build CI/CD platform using Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Responsible for CI/CD pipeline build, improvement, and management.
  • Support and troubleshoot infrastructure issues in production environments.
  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability of continuous integration environments.
  • Manage Linux, Windows, VMWARE and Storage on-premise environments.
  • Investigate and perform Root Cause Analysis on reported issues and suggest workarounds before implementing the permanent fix.
  • Design, develop and deploy AWS cloud services, as well as integrate with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Azure, Cisco compute and networking, or VMware Pivotal/Tanzu and VMware virtualization.
  • Develop financial business applications using Java, Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • Design and build cloud security architecture for AWS or Azure platforms, which consists of Microservices, Serverless, multicloud, hybrid cloud, compliance and regulatory strategy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex problems that span several different platforms.
  • Partner with different infrastructure and development teams.
  • Prioritize existing projects and proactively determine areas requiring additional attention, monitoring, or maintenance.
  • Work in collaboration with infrastructure teams, product managers, development teams and architects to provide platform-related knowledge.
