We are seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to lead the strategy, design, and continuous evolution of our enterprise IT infrastructure. In this highly visible role, you will partner with senior leadership to deliver scalable, cost-effective technology solutions that align with and enable business objectives. You will oversee the planning, architecture, and optimization of complex systems across operating platforms, storage, networking, security, databases, automation, and cloud environments. This role is critical in driving infrastructure modernization, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity across hybrid environments (on-premises, virtual, and cloud). The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and strategic insight to resolve complex system challenges, lead infrastructure improvements, and guide long-term planning. Responsibilities also include capacity planning, performance analysis, backup and recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning to ensure resilience and business continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure architecture or engineering
  • Deep technical knowledge of: Operating systems: Windows, Linux/UNIX, Active Directory
  • Networking concepts, protocols, and client-server architecture
  • Storage and database systems
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Strong understanding of: Security principles and best practices
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity
  • IT architecture frameworks and enterprise systems
  • Experience with: Nutanix (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Large-scale, complex infrastructure environments
  • Outsourced/vendor-supported environments
  • Scripting and automation tools
  • Proven ability to: Design and implement enterprise systems
  • Conduct business requirements analysis
  • Develop strategic and tactical IT plans
  • Manage competing priorities in high-pressure environments
  • Demonstrated leadership, influence, and stakeholder management across all organizational levels

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across infrastructure domains including compute, networking, storage, and cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Define and enforce enterprise infrastructure standards, policies, and architecture frameworks.
  • Lead large-scale, complex initiatives and guide highly technical, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior leadership to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps, capacity plans, and investment strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide architectural guidance and consulting to IT teams and business partners.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve cost efficiency, scalability, and flexibility.
  • Oversee system performance validation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive alignment between IT strategies and enterprise goals.
  • Support development of IT policies including security, disaster recovery, standards, and service delivery.
  • Participate in vendor management, contract negotiations, and outsourced service oversight.
  • Lead cross-organizational initiatives, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor and develop talent through technical leadership, training, and coaching.
  • Apply project management practices to multiple concurrent medium-to-large initiatives.
