About The Position

As the Principal Infrastructure Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping OCI's network capacity strategy. Your primary responsibility is to own and manage capacity forecasting and planning for a specific segment of OCI's global network, ensuring optimal performance and future-proofing our infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of network capacity planning, fiber infrastructure, and capital approval processes, with a focus on backbone, metro, and POP capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate capacity forecasts for a defined portion of OCI's global network footprint.
  • Partner closely with fiber sourcing teams to secure dark fiber IRUs and plan DWDM/lit wavelength requirements.
  • Navigate OCI's capital approval process, including PAQ, CAR, PR, and PO, to secure funding for capacity enhancements.
  • Collaborate with site design teams on OAD/3AD/POP/Hub site planning, ensuring alignment with capacity needs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for network optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct regular capacity reviews and provide insights to stakeholders, ensuring proactive capacity management.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to align capacity planning with business goals.
  • Document and communicate capacity planning processes, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach across the organization.
  • Mentor and guide junior capacity planners, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.
