About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Industrial Water Wastewater Consultant to join its Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team as a "seller/doer." This client-facing technical position will be crucial for growth in the Mining sector in the US. The role involves engaging with clients, understanding their needs, identifying opportunities, and leading proposal development (40-50% of the role). Additionally, the consultant will perform conceptual and detailed process design for industrial water and wastewater treatment projects, particularly in the Mining sector, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (50-60% of the role). This is a hybrid work position, with preferred locations in the Southwest and West region of the US. Client facilities and projects are located throughout the US, with some international assignments.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study preferred
20+ years of industrial water/wastewater treatment experience
Held prior roles across engineering, project management, sustainability, sales, marketing, and mining
Knowledge and experience with industrial clients in North America, particularly those in the Mining sector
Strong experience in developing and leading large industrial wastewater capital projects
Strong experience and network within the Mining sector

Professional Engineer License
Knowledge and experience with multinational industrial clients
Previous experience in a regional or national role and collaboration across regional teams

Responsibilities

Support Arcadis’ industrial water growth in Mining Sector, particularly in the US
Lead business development activities to increase project wins and develop long-lasting client relationships.
Reaching out to your client network on a regular basis to stay connected and assess if there are any opportunities to assist them with key needs, including strategic positioning for future opportunities
Leading pursuits and development of proposals
Client meetings for business development
Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions
Participating in client interviews
Engaging with Arcadis’ regional, national, and global client account teams, supporting the expansion of business development opportunities and client relationships to strategically grow Arcadis’ industrial water/wastewater portfolio, leveraging existing and new client relationships
Preparation of abstracts and technical papers.
Serve as a Mining Sector wastewater treatment subject matter expert.
Support the development of the Industrial Water process team within the Mining sector, including teaching/mentoring staff on mining operations as well as wastewater issues/needs and treatment within the Mining sector.
Lead projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of industrial water / wastewater treatment plants and wastewater recycle plants.
Coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams.
Lead or serve as Subject Matter Expert for complex engineering designs for industrial water projects while collaborating with other design disciplines.
Design basis documents (provide direction/review)
Engineering calculations including mass and energy balances (provide direction/review)
Review of engineering drawings (P&IDs and Layout)
Specifications for treatment equipment, instrumentation, and controls
Engineering reports and feasibility studies (provide direction/review)
Quality reviews.
Manage technical coordination and leadership roles on larger or complex projects or projects with higher associated risk.
