The Industrial Engineer will partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and external vendors to ensure layouts, process flows, and utility requirements are aligned with business needs, safety expectations, compliance requirements, and operational performance targets. This role will focus on improving manufacturing flow, space utilization, equipment placement, labor efficiency, and readiness for new or modified production processes in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, including facilities planning, plant layout design, process optimization, and production support.
  • Experience developing plant and line layouts, workstation designs, material flow diagrams, and process flow maps, while supporting equipment installations, line moves, capacity expansions, manufacturing transfers, and facility modification projects.
  • Experience with CAD or facility layout software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, coordinating facility, utility, and manufacturing projects across Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and external vendors.
  • Experience operating within highly controlled manufacturing environments, with knowledge of equipment qualification, process validation, change control, and quality system requirements.
  • Experience with project or business planning tools such as Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Excel or equivalent tools.

  • Create and maintain process flow maps, value stream maps, material flow analyses, and future-state designs to identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, improve flow, and optimize space, staffing, equipment utilization, and material movement.
  • Coordinate utility requirements for manufacturing equipment and production areas, including compressed air, electrical, vacuum, water, drainage, HVAC, exhaust, cleanroom infrastructure, and other site-specific facility needs.
  • Lead alongside Facilities, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, and Operations to ensure plans support equipment installation, qualification, validation, safety, ergonomics, and long-term maintainability.
  • Support manufacturing footprint, line relocation, equipment duplication, and capacity expansion projects by developing layout concepts, defining equipment and utility requirements, evaluating constraints, documenting alternatives, and recommending implementation plans.
  • Lead or support time studies, capacity analyses, labor studies, line balancing, takt time analysis, and workstation optimization to improve productivity, throughput, cost, and operator experience.
  • Support change control activities by providing layout drawings, process flow documentation, utility impact assessments, implementation rationale, and supporting documentation as required.
  • Ensure plant layout and process flow changes comply with applicable company procedures, safety requirements, quality system expectations, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead cross-functional layout reviews and communicate project status, risks, constraints, decisions, and open actions to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of current-state and future-state layouts, equipment locations, process flows, utility requirements, and implementation status.
