You will lead the development, implementation, and execution of MIL‑STD‑1472–compliant HFE programs and associated analyses. You will act as the primary Human Factors technical interface with customers, program leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure human-centered design principles are integrated into system development. You will drive the integration of HFE across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), influencing system architecture, requirements development, design decisions, verification activities, and risk mitigation strategies. You will lead HFE contributions to system safety efforts, including identifying human-related hazards, performing risk assessments, and developing design controls in collaboration with System Safety Engineering. You will coordinate with customer representatives and government stakeholders to interpret, refine, and allocate Human Factors requirements across software, hardware, training, maintenance, and operational domains. You will review, approve, and provide technical oversight of HFE analyses, assessments, reports, and engineering recommendations. You will brief Human Factors status, technical risks, findings, and recommendations to program leadership, customers, and engineering review boards. You will interpret system requirements, customer specifications, military standards, and contractual requirements to develop actionable Human Factors solutions. You will collaborate across Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Logistics, Training, and System Safety organizations to ensure effective Human Systems Integration. You will lead Human Factors Working Groups and participate in System Safety Working Groups, Engineering Review Boards, and customer technical interchange meetings. You will develop and maintain strong customer relationships while serving as a trusted advisor on Human Factors and HSI matters. You will support proposal efforts through technical solution development, BOE generation, staffing recommendations, and authoring proposal content. You will identify opportunities to improve Human Factors processes, tools, methodologies, and organizational capabilities. You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to HFE/HSI practitioners, promoting best practices and technical excellence. You will mentor early and mid-career engineers through coaching, technical reviews, and knowledge sharing. You will exercise significant independent judgment to resolve complex technical challenges involving human performance, usability, safety, maintainability, training, and operational effectiveness.
