About The Position

OleOle is building a global social network and messaging platform for football fans. Our mission is to create a single global community where supporters can follow their club and country, connect with other fans, message and call each other, follow live matches, discover content, and ultimately access a broader ecosystem of football products and services. The OleOle platform combines social networking, encrypted messaging, live scores, video, multilingual content, payments, digital wallets, AI, and Mini Programs designed around the global football community. OleOle Sport is one of OleOle’s core business units, focused on ticketing, VIP hospitality, and football travel. The business will provide access to hard-to-get match tickets, hospitality experiences, hotels, and complete travel packages for major football matches and sporting events around the world. OleOle Sport will operate through its own standalone consumer website while also becoming an integrated Mini Program within the larger OleOle platform, connecting OleOle’s community directly to tickets, travel, hospitality, and payments. We are now looking for a technical leader and Website Architect to take ownership of OleOle Sport’s technology platform. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone capable of architecting and building the website and underlying commerce platform, integrating ticket and travel inventory from multiple providers, and ultimately building and leading the engineering team responsible for OleOle Sport. The right person will have significant experience building high-scale consumer commerce, travel, ticketing, booking, reservation, or marketplace platforms and will be comfortable owning the technology from architecture through production.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience at Staff, Principal, Lead, Architect, or equivalent level.
  • Proven experience architecting and building high-scale consumer transactional platforms.
  • Hands-on experience designing systems involving inventory, availability, pricing, reservations/orders, checkout, payments, fulfillment, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation.
  • Experience integrating multiple external suppliers, vendors, APIs, payment providers, or inventory sources and designing abstraction layers that avoid dependency on any single provider.
  • Strong understanding of transactional reliability, including idempotency, retries, concurrency, inventory holds, partial failures, asynchronous workflows, reconciliation, and recovery.
  • Deep full-stack engineering experience with modern consumer web technologies.
  • Experience designing highly available systems capable of handling significant traffic spikes and high-value transactions.
  • Strong understanding of security, authentication, payment security, observability, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
  • Ability to work closely with OleOle’s CTO, payments architecture leadership, product, design, and other platform teams while maintaining clear ownership of OleOle Sport.
  • Ability and desire to remain deeply hands-on. We are not looking for someone who only manages engineers or produces architecture diagrams.
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and eventually leading a small, high-performing engineering team.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to take an early-stage business requirement and turn it into a production architecture without requiring a large organization around you.
  • Must have travel experience.

  • Experience with international and multilingual consumer products is highly desirable.
  • Experience architecting large-scale SEO or programmatic SEO platforms, including SSR, structured data/schema, canonical URLs, hreflang, internal linking, sitemap architecture, crawl/indexation management, and web performance, is a major advantage.
  • Production experience with AI/LLM systems, agents, tool/function calling, recommendation systems, or AI-assisted content/data platforms is also valuable.
  • Understanding of football and international sports a huge plus.
