About The Position

Steer is hiring a Principal Full Stack Engineer for its Core Platform Team to advance the next generation of its CRM platform. The role focuses on the core CRM components, especially improving data ingestion and processing to strengthen automation tools. This is a high-impact, hands-on technical leadership position with ownership of products from vision through launch, and responsibility for shaping architecture and technical strategy as Steer scales. The engineer will design reusable full-stack components and services, adapt priorities between integrations and core infrastructure, and work closely with Product to address customer pain points for automotive repair shops. The role also champions security, test automation, maintainability, and high-quality code reviews. Steer is building an agentic-first engineering organization, so the position includes designing and maintaining AI-integrated infrastructure and autonomous workflows, as well as influencing CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code practices. Steer describes this role as requiring exceptional ownership, focus, accountability, and commitment to the company’s mission. The position is remote within the United States. The company offers equity options, employer-paid medical insurance, flexible PTO, savings and spending account options, a learning stipend, and work-from-home equipment.
