We are seeking a Principal Full-Stack Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of a cloud-based platform that enables secure monitoring, connectivity, and remote management of medical devices. This role serves as a technical leader across software engineering teams, driving architecture, innovation, and engineering excellence while ensuring compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity requirements. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in cloud-native application development, IoT/IoMT technologies, and modern software architecture with a hands-on approach to coding, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience designing and developing enterprise-scale cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • Strong expertise with .NET/C#, RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services, including IoT, compute, networking, security, data, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Experience building IoT/IoMT platforms, device connectivity solutions, and telemetry processing systems.
  • Proven ability to design scalable, highly available, and secure cloud architectures.
  • Expertise with relational and NoSQL databases, including Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Experience implementing identity and access management solutions using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing software for medical devices or healthcare technology.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, cybersecurity guidance, and quality system requirements.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, large-scale cloud platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, observability, and infrastructure governance
  • AWS certifications and/or advanced cloud architecture experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, development, and implementation of a cloud-based medical device monitoring and control platform.
  • Design and develop scalable, highly available microservices, APIs, and backend services supporting medical device connectivity and remote management.
  • Architect and implement IoT/IoMT solutions utilizing AWS IoT Core, MQTT, secure device communications, and telemetry processing.
  • Develop high-performance data solutions leveraging Amazon DynamoDB, relational databases, and event-driven architectures.
  • Build secure RESTful APIs, event-processing pipelines, and distributed systems capable of processing high volumes of device-generated data.
  • Partner with Product Management, Quality, Security, Regulatory, and Engineering teams to deliver compliant, secure, and scalable solutions.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through coding, debugging, performance optimization, code reviews, and mentoring.
  • Lead architectural decision-making focused on scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, observability, and disaster recovery.
  • Conduct system risk assessments, threat modeling, and cybersecurity reviews for connected medical device solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and scalable technology solutions.
