About The Position

The Principal Forward Deployed Engineer is part of MyWave’s global Agentic Centre of Excellence (CoE), a virtual team that deploys MyWave and its generated agents with partners and customers, then enables partners to build, govern, and operate agents independently. The role is based in the central to east coast United States and covers US and EMEA time zones. It works with SAP systems including ECC, S/4HANA across on-premise, private-cloud, and public-cloud environments, and SAP Business One, as well as surrounding non-SAP systems. The role reports into the Agentic CoE. The position is hands-on and centers on partner onboarding and enablement, customer deployments, technical presales, and reusable CoE assets. The engineer helps establish MyWave Runtime and MyWave Desktop environments, connects them to SAP through MyWave MCP servers, trains partner consultants, and supports deployments from landscape discovery through agent configuration and go-live. The engineer also supports demonstrations and proofs of value, contributes field feedback to Product and Engineering, and checks new releases on typical SAP partner setups. MyWave provides training in AI and its platform; prior agentic AI expertise is not required. The role requires a strong SAP technical consulting or architecture background, particularly in SAP integration and extension, and the ability to learn new platforms. The engineer works closely with partners and their customers, communicates clearly across time zones, and travels to partner sites and industry events in the US and EMEA. Compensation is $98,600–$119,000 per year.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years as a technical consultant, solution architect, or integration lead working on SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn a new platform quickly and develop deep expertise in it.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP integration and extension, including REST and OData APIs, BAPIs and RFCs, IDocs, SAP BTP (Integration Suite, SAP Build, CAP), authorisations, and data flows between systems.
  • Comfort with REST APIs and JSON, OAuth, OIDC and SAML SSO, TLS certificates, Docker, Windows, and macOS.
  • Ability to read configuration files, follow logs, and diagnose issues such as port conflicts.
  • Ability to reason about governance, including roles, authorisations, policy boundaries, audit, and deterministic operations when writing to systems of record.
  • Good interpersonal skills; warm, confident, and patient when guiding partner consultants and working with SAP architecture teams.
  • Clear written communication, including actionable documentation that colleagues in other time zones can use without a call.
  • Comfort working in a virtual, multi-time-zone team and flexing hours to cover EMEA mornings and US afternoons.
  • Based in the central to east coast United States, with the right to work there.
  • Ability to travel to partner sites and industry events in the US and EMEA.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to SAP Business AI, Joule, and Joule Studio, or a strong appetite to learn them quickly.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Business One, including Service Layer, Web Client, and Web Extensions.
  • Understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent-to-Agent (A2A), or equivalent tool integration; hands-on experience is a plus but not a prerequisite.
  • SAP certifications in S/4HANA, BTP, Integration Suite, or architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM tooling such as Azure OpenAI, agent frameworks, MCP servers, or A2A.
  • Experience in a large SI’s SAP practice or at an SAP partner, and an existing SAP ecosystem network.
  • Experience with SAP PartnerEdge and the SAP Store.
  • Exposure to regulated industries and compliance frameworks such as SOX, IFRS, and GDPR, and understanding of their impact on automation.
  • Spanish or another European language.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical onboarding of new partners in the assigned time zones, including setting up MyWave Runtime and MyWave Desktop, connecting SAP systems through MyWave MCP servers, and supporting the first successful agent run.
  • Run pre-enablement partner-readiness checks by screen share to confirm environments are working before training.
  • Deliver technical training to partner consultants on environment setup, SAP connections, MCP servers and InfoPlugins, A2A, roles, policies, the Supervisor, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead hands-on training labs and respond to technical questions beyond the training materials.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for partner setup and connection issues; diagnose problems, guide partners through fixes, and escalate deeper issues to CoE and infrastructure teams with clear documentation.
  • Work with partner delivery teams on customer deployments, including landscape discovery, agent generation in MyWave Create, systems-of-record connections, roles and authorisations, policies and rules, Supervisor configuration, operating modes, and go-live.
  • Deploy in RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP programmes, hybrid migration scenarios, and on-premise ECC and S/4HANA estates.
  • Connect surrounding enterprise systems such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday through APIs, MCP, and A2A, and reason about data and authorisation flows across systems.
  • Remain engaged through initial go-live and protect the customer reference.
  • Support Partner Director, Presales, and partner sales teams as a technical authority during landscape discovery, architecture and security discussions, customer-process demonstrations, and proofs of value.
  • Scope partner pilots, covering environment options, prerequisites, agent read/write scope, governance, and realistic timelines.
  • Create reusable CoE assets, including reference architectures, deployment runbooks, demo agents, MCP and InfoPlugin patterns, and Academy content.
  • Provide field feedback to Product and Engineering on partner patterns, documentation and tooling gaps, and actionable defect details.
  • Sanity-check each new MyWave Runtime and Desktop release on a typical SAP partner setup; serve as a field check rather than the release test gate.
  • Share US and EMEA field patterns with CoE colleagues in other regions.
  • Travel to partner sites and industry events in the US and EMEA as needed.
