About The Position

The position serves as the lead technical expert for financial analytics, performance measurement, and revenue optimization reporting within the ZSFG Vice Dean's Office. The role is creating new analytics capabilities, methodologies, and decision-support frameworks to address complex financial challenges for the Vice Dean's Office. This is done by applying advanced knowledge of healthcare decision support, operational analytics, and financial performance measurement to lead complex projects that support strategic and operational decision making. Serves as a technical leader in the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of large and complex datasets derived from clinical, operational, financial, and administrative sources. Leads the design, development, and continuous improvement of standardized performance reporting processes, dashboards, scorecards, and analytic frameworks that enable leaders to monitor organizational performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Develops and implements data governance, reporting methodologies, and performance measurement standards that ensure the integrity, reliability, and consistency of analytic outputs. Performs advanced analyses of operational and financial trends, utilization patterns, productivity measures, service performance, and organizational outcomes. Applies internal and external benchmarks, industry standards, and best practices to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and generate actionable insights that support operational excellence and strategic initiatives. Partners with operational, clinical, and administrative leaders to define business requirements, translate complex questions into analytic approaches, and communicate findings through meaningful reports, visualizations, and presentations. Leads cross-functional projects requiring sophisticated quantitative analysis, predictive modeling, and the integration of data from multiple systems to support evidence-based decision making. Functions with a high degree of autonomy and serves as a subject matter expert in healthcare analytics, performance measurement, and decision support methodologies. Develops innovative metrics, reporting solutions, and analytical processes that improve organizational visibility, efficiency, and performance across departments and service lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area
  • In-depth understanding of decision support systems, with knowledge of business statistics, quantitative methods, relational databases, business development scorecards, data modeling, and performance and profitability analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of issues and aspects of clinical finance, planning, financial data management, budget development, and business development.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the tools to produce comprehensive, studies and actionable intelligence.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing complex SQL queries with a minimum of 7+years in direct experience working with large data sets.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, and ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead projects and teams and collaborate productively on highly-complex projects with key personnel at all professional and technical levels.
  • Advanced written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to interpret and convey highly sophisticated technical and financial information in a clear, concise manner, and to make cogent presentations of analyses, reports, and investigation results.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills analytical ability, and in-depth knowledge of documentation and reporting, with the ability to run highly complex queries and studies, to collect and analyze financial and performance data, and to produce relevant, meaningful reports, analyses, and forecasts.
  • In-depth ability to work with senior staff and managers across departments, serving as a technical leader and information resource in decision support, and providing recommendations and advice on decision support processes, business and financial issues
  • Client service oriented – good listening, critical thinking and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Develops and recommends new metrics, systems, and processes to improve the value of decision support activities and efficiencies
  • Performs highly complex queries and may take the lead on producing regular analyses and investigations of performance, utilization, clinical programs, market trends, and financial analyses
  • Leads project teams to develop and optimize tools and sources for modeling data
  • Leads projects and / or serves as an information resource on teams involved with business development planning and the implementation and integration of new programs
