About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Financial Analyst opportunity to support the Savannah River Site. This role serves as the Senior Advisor to senior SRNS/DOE/NNSA Management for the execution, development, implementation, maintenance, and accountability of total project controls, financial analysis, or estimating applications. The position involves providing leadership and advice to management to maintain and improve planning, scheduling, financial analysis, and cost control throughout the life cycle of complex projects or programs. It also includes providing strategic advice on the performance of Project Control/Financial/Planning & Scheduling activities and supervising overall efforts for projects or programs. The role requires developing and delivering training programs in Project Controls/Financial Controls/Planning & Scheduling systems and methods, leading and presenting financial/project information to senior management, performing risk analyses, and developing innovative strategies and plans.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and 15 years of practical experience OR Bachelor's degree(BA or BS) in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and 18 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent OR An Associate's degree and 20 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent OR A high school diploma and 22 years of relevant experience would also be considered equivalent.
  • Expert-level working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven experience negotiating complex FAR and CAS issues with government agencies.
  • Previous experience working with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Government Accountability Office (GAO), Office of Inspector General (OIG), or other similar government auditing entities.
  • Expert proficiency in the use of automated accounting, cost management, scheduling and estimating systems as tools for performing required duties.
  • Strong personal computer skills.
  • Practical experience in the use of the Site Business systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Eight (8) + years of government contractor accounting compliance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as the Senior Advisor to senior SRNS/DOE/NNSA Management for the execution, development, implementation, maintenance and accountability of total project controls, financial analysis or estimating applications.
  • Provide leadership and advice to management that enables the capability to maintain and improve planning, scheduling, financial analysis and cost control throughout the life cycle of a very complex or unique project or program.
  • Provide strategic advice as it relates to performance of highly complex Project Control/Financial/Planning & Scheduling activities and/or supervising the overall effort for a project or program.
  • Provide technical and administrative direction, coordination, evaluation, training and coaching to a team of Project Controls/Financial Analysts/Planning & Scheduling specialists.
  • Develops and delivers training programs in Project Controls/Financial Controls/ Planning & Scheduling systems and methods.
  • Lead, prepare and present financial/ project information in appropriate format to Senior/Executive SRNS management.
  • Perform risk analyses and provide decision authority for defining and approving corrective actions while establishing priorities.
  • Develop innovative strategies, plans, and program for new initiatives along with diagnose and resolve problems of diverse scope and multiple factors are to consider.
  • Without access to supervision, develop, plan and recommend appropriate business strategies, and technology to SRNS Senior Management as well as to DOE and external organizations.
